  • SEO Writing – Good or Bad?

You’ve all seen the SEO articles online that make no sense, are keyword stuffed beyond the realm of comprehension, and are completely full of fluff with no useful information whatsoever. They fill article directories, web pages, and appear everywhere in response to searches that take you past the first page of Google results.

Search engines are getting better at weeding these out of high results, but still – having that type of stuff out there hurts your image and downgrades you in the view of most people as an authority. In addition, you are wasting a great chance to drive traffic as well as get those links you crave.

Real SEO friendly article writing starts with a core idea, a question your audience is likely to seek an answer to. This is your opening, as you can provide that answer and be helpful – then offer more help via a link to your site they can follow for information, products, services, etc.

Suppose the question someone is searching for is ‘natural pest control.’ They click on your result and are faced with this garbled proffering!

“Natural pest control is really quite simple. It’s not hard to achieve natural pest control if you want to control pests naturally. Simply learn about natural pest control, and apply natural pest control concepts to your pest control problem – naturally!”

Not so helpful, right? Suppose, however, they were met with something like this:

“If you are looking for natural pest control tips, start by identifying what kind of pest you need to control. Different pests respond to different natural methods of control, and you will want to use one system to drive away ants, and another to get rid of mosquitoes. Natural pest control methods are generally expected to be pesticide free, using organic ingredients that naturally repel whatever kind of pest you are encountering…”

See? The second one is optimized (though in a milder less ‘in your face’ fashion), gives real and useful information, and tells them they need to refine their question before offering a link to a webpage where they can input the type of pest they need to deal with and get specialized ‘how to’ instructions.

Articles like this boost your profile as an expert, increase your visibility, give you better chances of your article being ranked on the front page of Google for your keywords, and still give you that link from the directory. Why not do your best on every piece of content you produce?

The same goes if you hire an SEO copywriter. Don’t be over the moon with excitement over bargain deals on bulk articles- they will likely be similar to the first sample above. You don’t want that representing you. Pay 10 times as much, get a tenth as many articles, and see real results in increased traffic.

Same goes if you hire a firm to do your SEO – their copywriters should be skilled and creative, not just drones hammering out keyword stuffed junk. SEO article writing shouldn’t be cheap and worthless – ask your SEO firm about premier optimized copywriting services today!
