  • SEO TIPS: Avoiding the Pull of the Dark Side

The dark side of SEO has its pull, but it is never worth it. Yes, fast results with little effort are compelling, but there is a price to pay for going black hat with your SEO. There is always a price to be paid. Being a black hat SEO artist is walking a very thin line!

Trust me, you don’t want to get involved in black hat SEO tactics – the penalties can be quite severe. Sometimes it may be a slap on the wrist and stern warning. Other times, it may be seeing your site sandboxed and irrelevant. You have to ask yourself, is a couple months of upward mobility worth potentially losing your site over?

If the threat of being sanboxed isn’t enough to dissuade you from black hat tactics, let’s look at things from a differ

ent angle. If you are tempted to take some shortcuts to the top of the SERPs, think twice – don’t be unaware of the risks. Actions result in consequences, and those for breaking faith with search engines are hard to recover from.

The straight and narrow path is the one to walk to ensure a long and happy life in the index! Yes, it takes more effort and it takes more time, but the results will stick and your site won’t be marred with a black eye for engaging in unsavory practices.

Black hatters may be dropped from indexes altogether and never be able to get re-indexed. That is a real possibility. Google does not play around with black hat tactics anymore and they do not give black hatters several chances to comply.

Once you are penalized, it can take hours and hours trying to track down black hat actions and fix them, and meanwhile your customers are lost and trust in your site is destroyed. Black hat works great – briefly, but once caught you pay for it forever.
