When you are desperately trying to search for ways and means of increasing your website traffic, that promises to send thousands of visitors for just under $100, you are more likely to buy into that service. However, before you spend (waste) your money on such an offer, just stop for a moment to ask yourself whether the traffic you will get be of any use to your website.
We have stated several times that traffic for traffic sake is no good to any website and that is what the success or failure of PPC campaigns is all about. How targeted your customers are, is very important to your website. Only targeted visitors will bring sales conversions. Companies that run traffic campaigns make use of some or all the following strategies – pop ups, pop unders, exit traffic, expired domain traffic, surf traffic, redirected traffic, affiliate traffic etc. Most often, the traffic that you get through these means does not help you much. For example some of these services try to hijack the monitor of the visitor with multiple pop ups strewn all over their screen when they try to exit a website. These pop ups will contain links to your website. If it were to be you such an action will only frustrate you. You are more likely to panic that you are subjected to some security attack and close the browser or even if you happen to visit the website served there, you are very unlikely to trust the site that you are taken to because of the means by which you were directed to the site.
Besides that you will very rarely find companies that can send you targeted traffic. The more targeted the visitors are the more expensive will be the cost. So when you take a closer look at this issue, you will realize that it is after all not as attractive a deal as it looks. You might get million visitors to your website that sells its products and services within the US and if 90% of them are from the Asian countries, then you cannot expect any benefit from the traffic campaign that you buy.
Some of the companies send automated bots to your site to show the promised number of hits and not real hits. Your website statistics will show those million hits but they would not have brought you any conversions because they are not real human visitors. There are so many negative points associated with buying traffic. So it is best not to waste your money on such services.
